Women huipil hand-woven made on a back strap loom traditional garment

A lovely huipil ( pronounced wee peel ) from Zinacantan Michoacán, Mèxico. Color brown decorated with brown chocolate tufts ( a cluster of cut threads used as decorative finish, attached to the thying or holding threads of the huipil)
The process of making a huipil sometimes takes up to a month to complete and it will last for years, this huipil is hand-woven by Maria on her shop in Zinacantan, Michoacán, she use a technique called brocade which is different than embroidery to make this huipil blouse
This huipil is really an unique piece of art.
